The Mahj Archive (Decide: legal entity name and address) sells pre-owned designer mahjong sets. This page explains what we collect, why, and who else handles it.

What we collect

  • Your email address, when you sign in, hold a set, or ask us to watch for one.
  • What you ask us to watch for, in your words, and the holds you place.
  • Order details (name, shipping address, what you bought). Checkout and payment happen on Shopify. We never see your card number.
  • Consignment details when you sell with us: name, email, phone if you give it, city, notes, and photos and information about your set. Payout details are collected separately when your set sells.
  • Waitlist sign-ups: your email address and, if you tell us, how you heard about us.
  • A teacher’s referral code, if you arrive through a teacher’s link: a cookie keeps their code for 30 days and passes it to checkout, so they’re credited for the sale. It identifies the teacher, not you.
  • Your IP address, briefly, to limit how often forms and our agent connection can be used. These records are cleared within a day.
  • Requests from AI assistants that use our agent connection: which tool they used and the search filters, such as maker or price. We don’t record names, email addresses or free-text requests from those calls.

How we use it

  • To run the store: listings, holds, orders, returns and customer service.
  • To send the emails you ask for: sign-in links, confirmations, and alerts when a set you’re watching is listed. Every alert has a link to stop it.
  • If you join the waitlist: an email when we open, then Table for Four, about one a week, with hosting ideas and new arrivals. Every one has a link to stop them, separate from watch alerts.
  • To consign, inspect, sell and pay out for sets you send us.
  • To keep the site safe and working, including limiting automated abuse.

We don’t sell your personal information.

Cookies and advertising

The site uses a cookie to keep you signed in. With your permission, it also uses the Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram): it tells Meta which pages you visit here, so we can see which of our ads bring people to the Archive and show our ads to people who have visited. Meta receives information such as the page address, your browser and IP address, and its own cookie identifier. Nothing from Meta loads unless you choose Accept, and if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal we treat that as a no. You can change your choice any time from “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. Decide: lawyer to review this section with the other policies

Checkout runs on Shopify, which may report purchases to Meta through its own connection under Shopify’s privacy policy.

Listings are public

A listing shows the set, its tile count, grade and flaws. It never shows who consigned or bought the set.

Who else handles your information

  • Supabase: our database and sign-in.
  • Vercel: hosts the website.
  • Shopify: checkout, payment and order records.
  • Resend: sends our emails.
  • Meta: the advertising pixel, only if you accept it (see Cookies and advertising).
  • Anthropic: counts the tiles in photos of sets during inspection. Those photos show tiles, not people; please leave people out of photos you send us.

Each handles your information only to provide its service to us.

How long we keep it

Account and watch information stays until you delete your account. Order and consignment records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Decide: retention period for orders and consignments, per your accountant

Your choices

You can stop any watch from your account or from the link in any alert, and leave the waitlist from the link in any waitlist email. To see, correct or delete your information, email Decide: hello@mahjarchive.com. We’ll answer within 30 days.

Children

The Mahj Archive isn’t for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above, and email account holders about significant changes.

Table for Four

The best seat in the house.

You'll hear first when the doors open, and each week after, Table for Four brings you tablescapes, snacks worth pausing the game for, themes for your next table and the newest sets in the Archive.
